Gurnoor Singh Brar (GT): Minimal Data Makes Projection Impossible
Gurnoor Singh Brar does not make GT's optimal XII and has almost no meaningful T20 data. He bowled 3 overs at 12.7 economy with 0 wickets. That sample is far too small to evaluate.
What We Know
Brar is a domestic pace bowler. In his 3 overs, his PP economy of 8.5 across 2 overs showed some competence with the new ball. His middle-overs economy of 21.0 across 1 over was poor, but a single over is not evaluable in any meaningful statistical sense. The PP data point is the only one worth noting, and even that is based on just 12 balls.
Why He Does Not Make the XI
GT have Siraj, Krishna, Ishant, Holder, and Arshad Khan as pace options ahead of Brar. Without meaningful data, the model cannot project him as a viable alternative to any of them. He would need to generate at minimum 50 deliveries at the IPL level before the model can begin forming a projection.
Development Path
Brar's path to the XI requires strong performances in practice matches or domestic T20s. He is competing with established bowlers who have thousands of career balls of data. The gap in evidence is the primary barrier, not necessarily a gap in ability. Every young fast bowler starts with zero data.
What This Means for IPL 2026
Brar is a squad development option. His role in 2026 is to train with the first-team group, improve his skills, and wait for opportunities. If injuries thin GT's pace rotation late in the season, Brar could receive a debut. Until then, he remains behind four established domestic pacers and three overseas pace options in GT's bowling hierarchy.
